quoted from soulland:

“We’re very proud of how well the Soulland Adler Fedora has been received in the short time it has existed. To celebrate, we’ve teamed up with our favorite crew from Alken Film and Nahm Studio and made a short film that takes you backstage and shows how the fedoras are hand crafted in a small factory in Copenhagen.”

my interpretation:

“50% new era, 50% fedora, 100% hand made, people have been psyched on the adler hat because it is, clearly, awesome. but despite the innovation and quality, they aren’t flying out the door with a hefty €200 price tag attached to them. in an effort to boost sales, we’ve put together this video to emphasize the craftsmanship that goes into each hat, justifying said cost.”

it almost worked. the video is interesting, and well done. plus, i miss hearing danish spoken.

always a sucker for simple, affordable denim, my next pair might be coming from sweden. indigofera recently dropped these fuzzy looking beauties. get ‘em for the price of some A.P.C.’s at scandinavia’s best online shop: c-store.

had the privilege of sitting shotgun for soulland’s 5th & events show during copenhagen fashion week a few days ago. many thanks to mads emil (and kriss!) over at cover magazine for the connect. more spring/summer 2010 looks + lifestyles at creol brothers, and after the jump.

more.

it’s frustrating to come to scandinavia and find shops filled with american products priced at three times their normal cost. it’s even more frustrating when said products are so much better than anything i’ve ever seen stateside. some great things these stagnant american companies should actually sell in america:
